Long Distance Relationship
Story of the Week
Hello! I'm currently a nursing student here in my country and I'm involved in a long distance relationship for more than a year with my boyfriend, Harley, who's in the USA right now. Harley and I met last year in Grand Canyon around May 2004, when I worked there for a 4 month contract as an intern with an exchange visitor visa.
When my contract expired, I have to go back home to continue my studies. It's been almost a year since I last saw Harley and I really miss him so much. We've only been together for a month back in Grand Canyon, but somehow it seems forever rather than a very short span of time. It's so tough being in this kind of relationship. You have to put on a lot of trust and commitment to keep the relationship going.
Honestly, there are times where I would doubt our strength as a couple but when I look back and remember all those wonderful times we had together, my feelings for him would grow deeper and strengthen even more. I guess, one of the reasons why Harley and I are still going strong and holding on, is because we're similar in so many ways, most especially from the way we think maturely and the way we care about family and friends. Even though we both have different cultural backgrounds and traditions (since he's an American), it's not really a matter differences but more of the similarities that we have. I just hope and pray that this kind of special bond that Harley and I have is strong enough to keep us together in mind and heart, until the right time for us to see each other again.
