Long Distance Relationship
Story of the Week
I recently went on a trip around the world solo. Something that a lot of people didn't think that I would be capable of doing. But I proved them wrong and along the way learnt so much about life and myself that when I look in the mirror its as if a stranger is staring back at me.
I landed in Los Angeles on my first trip to the USA; the first trip anywhere in the world by myself! I immediately dropped my bags off at my room and went strolling the city. I was so excited. For some reason I hopped on a bus and when I saw the Farmer's Market I got off. I didn't know where I was but I felt a strong urge to go and have a look around.
I walked by a cafe and as I was passing caught a glimpse of the most handsome guy I had ever seen in my life! He was absolutley perfect. Well, this was enough for me to want to go into that cafe and order something just so that I could get a closer look. We started talking and he was so nice to me.
I went back there a couple more times and one night I finally got up enough nerve to ask him if he would like to take a walk with me down Hollywood Boulevard. He said yes straight away. We went on our first date that evening. It was absolutely perfect. It felt like I was in some kind of fairytale, like I was watching the most romantic movie on TV. We took a walk down the famous boulevard and then had dinner and to top the evening off we had coffee in front of the famous Roosevelt hotel and he walked me back to my hotel like a perfect gentleman.
I left LA a couple days later. He followed me to New York and we spent an amazing month travelling around together and I met his family. He even came to the airport to see me off. We are still together and we email daily and talk on the phone as often as we can. Long distance relationships has not been something that I had experience before.
Its a new experience and definitely makes the heart grown fonder as the saying goes!
