Long Distance Relationship
Story of the Week
I fell in love with a woman who never stops moving- literally! Teresa happens to be a dancer. After only 2 months into our new found love, she received a phone call that began our long distance affair. It was Holland America Cruise Lines asking her to dance in their shows for the next 7 months. It didn't hit me that she was really leaving until her plane began roaring down the runway. At that moment, my heart hit the floor.
The first 4 months apart were a real struggle. Men swooned her on the ship. I had offers of my own. We both were guilty of forgetting the love we have for each other.
When the fifth month came around, we began to talk more openly. Our talks brought us closer every week. I felt I knew her better now, more then when she was home with me. But even with our relationship turning around, my heart still ached to see her.
I booked a trip to Alaska on the ms Veendam. When we first saw each other, I almost didn't know what to say. I thought to myself, "She is more beautiful then I remember!" Our eyes locked and I knew everything was meant to be.
The trip was amazing! We hiked to the top of Mt. Roberts in Juneau. We saw wild grouse, marmuts, and even a bear. Teresa made snow angels in the patches of snow at the top. Our spirits soared and we felt as 'one'.
That night back on the ship, we made love for the first time. It was beautiful and romantic. Our reunion in Alaska, as I know now, was only the beginning of a beautiful, almost fairytale, love.
NOTE: I found the book on long distance relationships and had to laugh... for I have the same name and same ailment. I would like to thank you for the book. It brought some laughter ...
