Long Distance Relationship
Story of the Week
I have a long-distance relationship. I live in Slovakia and my boyfriend lives in Maryland, USA. We met 3 years ago, when I was in the USA on a student program for eastern European students called work and travel. I was working as a lifeguard in MD.
One day my boyfriend came to my pool and since then we are together. The beginnings weren't easy - I had a boyfriend in that time (but the relationship was in a stage when we both knew that we won't have a future together), I am still in college, my boyfriend is 10 years older than me and comes from a different backround. We spent the whole summer together and when I was leaving for Slovakia I realized that this is the man of my life and no matter what obsticles are there or will come, we have to overcome them, cause there aren't many people in the world who one can feel about this way. And it works!
It is not easy (many people wonder how do we do it), but he is a huge support for me. We see each other regullary (every 2 moths), I am in my last year of school and can't wait to move to the usa to be with him. Tonight I am flying to America to spend another wonderfull summer with Marcos.
And what do I think about long-distance relationships? Many people think that living together in one household before marriage is a good way to get ready for the future life, but I think that living on two different continents and be together is much better.
