Long Distance Relationship
Story of the Week
I met Steve last year through EHarmony.com. I joined last July at the suggestion of a friend. Finally, I gave in. I joined for a month and after a month I only talked to a few guys through emails and im's, nothing really came out of it, so I let the membership go.
One day I got an email from Eharmony asking me to join again so I decided one more month wont hurt. One week after rejoining I was matched with Steve. We went through the entire Eharmony process and exchanged IM addresses and talked on line for about an hour before we decided we wanted to talk on the phone. We ended talking for 7 hours!! We hit it off immediately.
Steve's in the Navy and has been for 17 years and was station up in CT and I was in NY. He came down to meet up with me and some friends one weekend and I have to say it was love at first sight!! Everything clicked and we got along so well. He took some leave time a week later and came down to spend it with my daughter (shes 5 years old) and I .
After that, every other weekend I would drive up to see him when my ex had my girl and when she was home with me hed come to see me. We did this for 6 months, spending every free moment with each other. In January of this year, he got an awesome job opportunity, the only thing, it was in Japan. It was something he couldnt pass up, so I supported his decision to take it.
He was scheduled to be there for March 1st. Our time was so cut short but he asked me to wait for him and that as soon as both of our divorces were final he would marry me and make me his wife. Well hes been gone now for a month and although I miss him immensely, I know that there were never two people in this life that were made for each other like Steve and I.
I honestly cant imagine my life without him. Three years compared to a lifetime with this wonderful, kind, sweet, loving man is nothing. I would wait an enternity if thats what it took to be with him. Trust, commitment and constant communication is key!!
